Dieter Kaegi
Born in Zurich, Dieter Kaegi studied Musicology and German Literature in Zürich and Paris.
After posts at English National Opera, Zürich and Düsseldorf, he became Director of Productions at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and is working as a free-lance director since 1995. He has directed over 100 operas worldwide. As director of Opera Ireland for more than 11 years he directed twelve operas for the company. In 2008 Dieter Kaegi was awarded the title of Cavaliere by the Italian Government, in recognition of his remarkable achievements.
More recent highlights include the foundation of the Lismore Music Festival (Ireland).
